Braves Cruise Behind Sale in 9-1 Rout of Rockies

DENVER — Chris Sale moved to 6-1 as the Atlanta Braves defeated the Colorado Rockies 9-1 at Coors Field on Saturday. Sale allowed one run across seven innings, while the Braves’ offense produced 12 hits to secure the victory.


Atlanta established an early lead with three runs in the first two innings before a three-run fourth frame extended the advantage. The Braves added two more in the fifth and a final run in the ninth to hand Colorado its 20th loss of the season.


Brennan Bernardino fell to 2-1 after surrendering the early lead. The Rockies were held to four hits, with their only run coming in the third inning. Colorado committed one error in the contest, which lasted 2 hours and 33 minutes.


The Braves improved to 24-10 with the win, while the Rockies dropped to 14-20. The series concludes Sunday in Denver.
